Total Quality Initiative

Recognizing that quality is the responsibility of every individual on the Applied team, we have evolved our quality philosophy to a more comprehensive, Total Quality Management system over the past several years. We sincerely believe that continuous improvement in every aspect of our business will produce tangible, positive results for our customers. We also believe that long-term relationships are built when customers trust the quality of all products and services provided by a supplier. Our mission at Applied is to earn this level of trust with all customers - past, present, and future.

In August 2002 Applied achieved both ISO 9001-2000 and Boeing Quality Management System accreditation. Understanding that true continuous improvement cannot be realized without tracking core business metrics, we have worked extensively to define and develop data to quantify trends, issues and barriers to improvement. During 2001 we established Self-Directed Work Teams with responsibility for key cost, delivery, safety and quality performance issues. Other initiatives include increasing the level of interaction between Production and Quality Control personnel with a goal of reducing/eliminating repetitive findings.
